Dear Friends,
pottery in this land began approximately 8,000 years ago. Those first creations took
their place on tables as vessels, serving one of humanity’s most fundamental needs:
nourishment.
Today, we are the custodians of this profound and meaningful heritage. And we do not
merely preserve it—we nurture it, develop it, and share it with the world.
I am proud to say that the International Menemen Pottery Festival has grown beyond being
just an event; it has become a global brand. The strong connections we established last
year with artists, academics, and masters from 41 countries have positioned Menemen as
one of the global centers of this art. This is a shared success. This is the rising
value of Menemen as a cultural brand.
And now, with renewed excitement and a broader vision, we move forward…
At the 5th International Menemen Pottery Festival, which will take place on September
18–20, 2026, we turn our focus to the very place where pottery was born and found its
meaning: the table. With the theme “The World’s Pottery Table is Set in Menemen,” we
bring together art and gastronomy, past and present, culture and flavor at one shared
table.
Because we know that every piece shaped from the soil of Menemen is not merely an
object…
It is a story, a labor of love, and a trace of an ancient civilization. And we are
determined to carry this legacy forward with even greater strength.
I firmly believe that this festival will not only elevate Menemen but also enhance the
global visibility of our country, bringing the richness of our deep-rooted culture to
the world once again. Menemen is no longer just a center of production; it is a source
of inspiration, a meeting point—
a true brand city in the field of pottery.
We would be honored to have you join us in this remarkable gathering.
Come… witness this 8,000-year-old story together.
Come… experience the warmth, hospitality, and culture of Menemen.
Come… take your place at the World’s Pottery Table.
With great excitement, respect, and heartfelt invitation, I welcome you to Menemen.
We look forward to meeting you at the 5th International Menemen Pottery Festival.
